Arizona Memories A KAET Production

Channel 8 turns back the clock to "the good ol' days" when Phoenix was a small town surrounded by farmland and ranches -- when kids swam in tree-lined canals, women's amateur softball was as popular as today's Phoenix Suns, and Phoenix Union High School's annual pageant Masque of the Yellow Moon rivaled anything Hollywood has to offer. The program blends old photographs, vintage home movies and personal reminiscences to paint a picture of life in a small town, of simple pleasures and homemade entertainment.

Good times we all remember
Narrated by KTAR radio personality and long-time resident Pat McMahon, Arizona Memories revisits a time before air conditioning and backyard pools, when Riverside Park was packed with families enjoying the huge freshwater pool and its incredible slide, when the Orpheum Theatre was the best place to catch a movie and a weekend date meant dancing to big name bands at Riverside Ballroom. Arizona Memories is filled with the good times we love to remember. And no matter where you grew up, chances are you remember them, too.
