Congratulations to the Be More Awards™ winners

Winners of Eight’s inaugural Be More Awards™ were announced Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Camelback Inn, according to Eight’s General Manager Greg Giczi. The event honored the outstanding achievements of Arizona’s non-profit organizations. Categories ranged from outstanding marketing initiatives, exceptional educational outreach, innovative organization endeavors, extraordinary fundraising and event efforts, and commitment to arts and cultural awareness. Tom Ambrose, senior vice president/executive director of Phoenix Suns Charities was the keynote speaker for the luncheon and awards ceremony. Ambrose’s presentation highlighted the vital role non-profits play in our society and their value to the community.

Eight has established the Be More Awards to publicly acknowledge the contributions and effectiveness of Arizona’s non-profit organizations,” said Gizci. “They are providing social services, health care and enhanced educational opportunities, as well as enriching our quality of life through the performing and visual arts. Every day, staff members, volunteers and supporters of these organizations reach out, lift up and offer hope – often behind the scenes, without reward or recognition. Until today.”

Applications for the Be More Awards™ were evaluated by an independent panel of 15 impartial judges ranging from community volunteers to business leaders from throughout the Apache, Coconino, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai, and Yuma area.
