Building our Future Together
Message from the General Manager
Central and Fillmore … the hub of a revitalized downtown Phoenix. In 2008, that will be the new address for Eight/KAET when we make the move from ASU’s Tempe Campus, along with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
This is an exciting chapter in the growth of public television in Arizona — from the programs we broadcast to our community outreach projects — and your support has helped make it possible, every step of the way.
Our design team has planned a more efficient facility that is wired to support the latest technology in high definition broadcasting. And the new building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. That means reduced operating costs and ongoing efforts to conserve our natural resources.
Inside the building are areas designated for town hall meetings as well as studios that provide seating for audiences. These spaces allow us to offer more opportunities for you to join in activities at the station.
You’ll find more information as well as renderings of the building on this Web site. Send us an email and let us know what you think. We’ll keep you updated with progress reports.
We will take this next step together … just as we have since we first turned the cameras on in 1961.
