JERRY JACKA
All his life, Jerry Jacka has dreamed of taking the perfect picture. So he searches for those special moments that appear without warning and vanish in the blink of an eye. An artist of Arizona and her native people, Jerry was raised in the desert north of Phoenix -- the family homestead since 1929. Here, he developed his passion for photography and his love for the land. In nearly a half-century of photography, Jerry has created more than 50,000 images. They showcase the diversity of Arizona through the eyes of a painter of light. Jacka has become one of Arizona Highways' most prolific photographers . . . and one of Arizona's important dreamers. He has given the rest of the world a glimpse of Arizona's varied landscapes and rich native cultures.
"One of the real joys in all kinds of photography that I do is bringing to people views, objects, places that they may never see in their own lives."
